ABOUT:
Iron-wing combines the best disciplines of an over fifty year Journey in the martial arts. Iron-wing Martial Art is a composite of Kyokushin Karate-Do, American Kenpo Karate, Taekwondo, Hapkido, Aikido, Iron-Palm Kung Fu, and Wing Chun and meditation.
The Iron-wing mission: is to develop a confidence in each student by helping them find a tangible set of martial arts skills which fit their range-of-motion and physical realities. The student develops lightning fast techniques, and maximize their personal inner power. (chi) This inner-power translates into an effective self defense technique repertoire that most perfectly fits the student, and not the other way around.

About:
Instructor / Master David
Starting at age 10 and opening his first Karate studio in 1980 called East-West Martial Arts at age18 in a large two room apartment in the San Francisco Bay Area and later opened a studio in the Seattle area. The mixed style was originally designed for women or smaller fighters who could level-up to be equal to larger opponents. A vast range of teaching experience includes teaching military special forces to children. Iron-wing's "shotgun" punch and Iron-wing strike, may just be two of the most powerful hand techniques in martial arts.

Today's Iron-wing represents an amalgamation of the best parts of the best systems in martial arts while tossing scripted and often ineffective techniques out. Iron-wing self defense configures to each students personal strengths and range-of-motion. Students will quickly develop powerful strikes and techniques while gaining inner strength and peace.

Some Iron-wing techniques include:
Shotgun-punch (invisible punch)
Iron-wing strike
Inside-up back-fist
Inside-out ridge hand

Increase your Chi...increase your LIFE!
Iron-wing has a three sash rank system

Yellow Sash

Black Sash

Red Sash Advanced
"Transforming your body into a weapon for self defense is not a moral dilemma, but rather a natural progression of self-awareness."

We don't spar or hop-around throwing sometimes ineffective strikes and kicks, we don't practice antiquated techniques. We don't "take-the-fight-to-the ground" (we don't advise a 128 pound woman grapple with a 220 pound man) Yet, one well placed Iron-wing strike can often end a confrontation and can be mastered by nearly anyone.
Simple to learn techniques can be practiced at home and become powerful weapons.
Teen's learn powerful techniques for confidence and protection.

After a single one hour class you will learn three primary strikes, After a few weeks you'll have several viable empty handed weapons. After a year, you'll have the confidence knowing you can better protect yourself while avoiding conflict.

25 Maxims to increase Chi (Inner Power)
1. Consume less food. If necessary; Don't finish your plate! Save or throw away the balance... it's better to throw away some food which cannot be given to a charity than to throw yourself away. Order-less, make-less, eat-less! Stop eating when it tastes the best!

2. Make food a sacrament to good health.

3. Learn to cook elegant food. Enjoy the sanctity of food and fine dinning at home or out.

4. Eat fats! Real butter, olive oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, nuts, avocados

5. Use black, pepper also white and multi colored pepper. The King of all spices has too many attributes to list here and builds chi by fighting bacteria and inflammation.

6. Walk somewhere, anywhere every day! This is about rhythmic thinking as much as it is about a little exercise and a very good way to increase your chi.
7. Drink a single small glass of wine with dinner! If you are underage or cannot drink alcohol drink bubbly or still water in a nice glass, not a plastic bottle! Reduced inhibition leads to greater chi.
8. Drink Green tea, black tea, and coffee! Jump start your chi!

9. Drink fresh squeezed juices: vegetable and fruits!

10. Go to dinner with someone you don't especially like. Learn to like them more. This takes courage and courage builds chi.

11. Wait 30 seconds before you take your first bite! You're telling your brain to prep your stomach thus greatly improving digestion. Better digestion increases chi. (Don't eat in a moving car if possible)
12. Make a new friend! Connection builds chi
13. Reconnect with an old friend
14. Don't drink sweetened or artificially sweetened sodas. Avoid drinking huge amounts of water, ice tea, or other liquids with meals. You only dilute your natural ability to digest your food as well as stress the stomach. Sip a small, elegant glass of wine, beer, bubbly or still water with your meal.

15. Never eat margarine. Crisco, or oils treated with hydrogen EVER! So most donuts, fast-food fried chicken, etc, avoid soy oil.

16. Admit Personal change is possible! Growing, learning, changing, is all possible. You are not static but fluid. Personal growth increases chi.

17. Avoid Buffets. At a buffet you are financially incentivized to over-eat. You'll learn how to successfully dine at a buffet in the future. Overeating kills your chi.

18. Don't be angry with your body. It's your souls earthy transportation.
19. Don't be angry with your brain. You're unique and exotic and there is only one of you.
20. Don't be angry with your neighbor. Bring them a gift as a token of your friendship.

21. Listen to people with an opposing idea. look for truth in their idea, accept this idea as their own relevant opinion. Share your truth if asked. Intimacy builds chi.

22. Avoid "should" statements such as "I should exercise." Should means you probably won't and may feel guilty about it later. Guilt ruins chi.

23. Take 10 deep and focused breaths alone each day. In through the nose fill your lungs to the belly hold for 10 seconds and controlled breath out.
24. Replace worry with optimism. Worry is the biggest killer of chi!
25. Pray to your God for help being stronger and kinder person. Pray for the needs of your family, friends, and for yourself. If you don't believe in God? pray to "God" or a Spirit or past loved one. Communion beyond oneself is vital for health and building chi.
We never initiate a fight, we are aware that our skillset can do fast and serious damage to another person, therefor, much like any other weapon we respect its force and power.

It's time to learn a truly effective self defense system.
